Your power lies in the present moment. Every challenge, difficulty or hardship offers you opportunities to grow on all levels. When you notice and focus upon the gifts with in each situation. You attract more positive experiences into your life.

Challenges, storms, Goliath, or Jaberwokey's whichever you choose to call them each of us experience them at some point in our lives. Some are small and insignificant, others can be life changing, changing the very fabric of who we are.

This is just what the story of David and Goliath is about overcoming the human ego breaking down the illusion of fear allowing spirit to shine, to learn our lessons, and to grow. Those who know me, can testify I am as transparent as possible. I can’t stand here and tell you this was an easy one, matter of fact this was a Goliath to me personally, struggling to be written.

Some things are like fine wine and needs time to develop, to form an understanding.

As I spent much time talking, contemplating, striving to understand something that really should be just so simple. I was reminded about, Alice in Wonderland, specifically the re-imagined Tim Burton adaption. It hit me, it has the same deep down story-line as David and Goliath, and one I could relate to.

Here you have a beautiful young girl, that her entire life has been programmed to be a certain way, groomed to do what her parents have instructed, but always questioning why?

So here’s where the story starts she is on her way to her engagement party (by the way she doesn't know this). She finds out from the twins that Hamish is planning on asking her to marry him, but she’s not sure, and is getting pressured by her sister, brother In law, and Hamish's mother to do as she is expected and agree, or she will end up husband-less just like her aunt. Just as Hamish pops the question, she hesitates and runs off chasing the White Rabbit, falling down the Rabbit Hole into another world.

When she arrives she is met with many challenges to prepare her for the upcoming battle. Right away, the “Eat Me” and “ Drink Me” stages (this happens multiple times throughout the movie), we can think of this as changing vibrations, illustrating how easy it is to change our thought processes from negative to positive, just by sheer concentrated will.

Once through the door she meets a few different characters, all questioning if she is the right Alice, But most importantly she meets Absolem (The caterpillar) Who simply asks her “Who are you?", “Well I am Alice,'' he replies “ We shall see.” She is then shown the prophecy scroll. This is where Alice learns she is to save Wonderland by battling the Jaberwokey. Of course when shown the scroll, she’s like “ that's not me”.

Fast forward and more challenges arise, each one teaching and molding her. Alice ends up meeting Byard (The Hound Dog). At this point, mini Alice has slept the night way hidden under the hat of the Hatter and is found the next morning by Bayard. Alice finds out that the Hater has been captured and taken to the Red Queen, she thus decides to save him. Bayard tells her that has not been foretold, that the day of battle is upon them and she must focus on preparing to meet the Jaberwokey.

Alice says she doesn't care and will save the Hatter, stating it was her fault he was captured. As the exchange continues Alice stands up and tells Bayard “Ever since I fell down that rabbit hole I have been told what I must do and who I must be, but this is my dream and I will decide where it goes from here, I make the path." At this point, Alice has realized she is able to control her own thoughts and emotions and will own them, creating her own path on her journey.

Fast forward to just before the big battle, The White Queen, Alice, Hatter, and the rest of the characters are at The White Queen's Castle. The White Rabbit asks who will step forward to be the Champion for the white queen. The Hatter, Cheshire Cat, and a few other characters step forward to volunteer. The queen looks at the Rabbit and he unrolls the scroll, once again showing Alice as the chosen champion. The Queen looks at Alice and tells her the choice must be hers. That when she steps out to face that creature, she must step out alone. Basically asking Alice are you going to stand up and own the challenge in front of you, trusting in yourself, trusting in the divine, and use the wisdom that has been gained since your journey started. Or are you going to run in fear and stay bound to what has been created?

Alice scared runs away and begins to cry. Absolem appears to her half cocooned and tells her, “ Nothing is ever accomplished with tears." Alice then asks Absolem why are you upside down. He tells her he has come to the end of this life, and is ready to transform (If you haven't made the connection yet Absolem is an aspect of Alice, a higher self). She tells him he can’t go that she can't do this alone. Absolem tells her he can’t help her if she doesn't even know who she is. Alice gets defensive, takes action and recounts just who she is. Finding her truth and herself. At last she is ready to go against the Jaberwokey.

The day of battle arrives, Alice and The White Queen (representing Innocence, truth, light, and God consciousness) as well as all the characters she has met along the way (again representing different aspects of herself) gather posed for battle. Meeting the Red Queen & the Jaberwokey (ego & negative manifestations) on the battlefield. An Epic battle ensues, Alice protected by shiny, sliver amour (spirit) and her sword (word of truth) face to face with the Jaberwokey. Some trash talk happens, then Alice takes control recounting something her father taught her and begins to recount 6 impossible things to herself as the battle beings. It culminates and ends with Alice severing the head of the Jaberwokey, thus returning the light and saving Wonderland. Alice then returns home denies Hamish’s proposal, and goes on to follow her heart and her father's footsteps, thus shattering the programming she has been taught her entire life.

We each are programmed by ego those dominating, aggressive ideas that keep us from our own spiritual growth. It is in owning our challenges, standing up to them, conquering them that the old aspects of ourselves fade away and we are reborn into a new better version of us. Take a second to think about who use to be, how you use to approach things, and personal challenges you lived through. Are you the same person you were before it happened, or has it completely changed you and the path you are on.

Here is the thing these challenges come in many different ways, it could be from thoughts, feelings, and actions related to this lifetime, a past life, or even related to a soul contract or even scarier Karmic debt (and yes just clarify karmic debt can come about from soul contracts, but this a discussion for another day). But each challenge, Goliath, or Jaberwokey has been placed there by our own thoughts and actions.

There are many times in life when the challenge is so huge, it seems we do not have a chance in dealing with it. Some give up in despair. But the Alice or David energy stands firm and then goes forward to meet the challenge. When we go forward in trust, we then get the right idea, the sword of truth or the smooth stone, that will enable us to conquer our giants. The Jaberwokey or Goliath is not something that we put in our minds. It is not something that we dream up with our intellect or try to figure out through human effort. It is a spiritual idea that is revealed to us when we become still and trust in our inner voice.

It only took one swipe of the sword or one stone to do the seemingly impossible job on the giants. See the head is where the many human giants reside, the many misconceptions that we hold in our mind, (the negative thinking). It’s not anything outside of us, it’s in our own human thoughts. Knowing this we do not have to struggle and battle with people and things. All we have to do is defeat the giants that we perceive as so real.

So if the giants are within ourselves and we can “Flip the script” so to speak, we have the power within us to change our self talk and overcome the challenge. When we go inward and listen to the guidance of spirit, that resides within each of us, we then can use our own sword or sling and shatter the negative thoughts and manifestations we create. It is when we decide to take action and flip the script that change happens. When we face our giants, step out of the situation, and try to see it from another perspective, that we eventually see the whole picture.

So how do we do this, It may seem so hard to find a starting point. As I talked with spirit and contemplated this, a song so familiar from my own childhood starting playing in my mind. Put one foot in front of the other, and soon you will be walking out the door. Such a true statement start small, one small foot step. May it be going inward, changing your self talk, or even releasing people from your life. Whatever the step may be it’s still a choice and a choice that you personally have to make to change your reflection.

Now it doesn't stop there, of course it's not that's easy, once everything is said and done, you have owned and gone through the door, now it time to heal. Taking time to reflect, process, and go inward, In finding peace on the situation so then your wounds can then begin to heal. To me personally, this is one of the utmost important parts of process. See if we don't learn the lesson at hand it will rear its ugly once more, it's a spiral. We constantly come back to things we thought we understood to see deeper truths. If we haven't learned the lesson it will repeat, each time building up intensity until you have a hurricane on your hands.

Now on the flip side of this as well the spiral may come back around and now you're playing a different part. Giving you a chance to see everything from another's perspective. Let me give you an example of what I am talking about. Lets just say you had a substance abuse issue, and your parents worked so hard to help you turn your life around. Maybe you fell a few times but eventually you got it. Several years go down the road, you meet someone, fall in love, and begin to notice the same characteristics, situations, and actions you once exhibited. Now realizing your loved one is also a substance abuser. Now your perspective is flipped, you are the one fighting for them, just as your parents fought for you, giving you a deeper truth. (Just a side note: this is a hypothetical and not true to my life.)

In taking take time to go inward and listen to the still small voice, the one that is guiding you, encouraging you, showing you the way. Replacing the negative self talk and flipping our scripts. We can become apart of the impossible magic that resides in and all around us.

Taking responsibility for the giants in our lives, rising up with faith and trust to overcome and conquer them, Make them your...Bi@ch! and above all being gracious, accepting the lessons and applying the wisdom. Knowing that with faith, love & trust we can conquer the impossible, shattering the illusion of fear that holds us all from being free.

I leave you with one last thought. If you take nothing else away with you, please remember this. No matter what life has thrown at you, or whatever life will throw at you. Right now in this space and time you have survived 100% of your worst days.

Love, Alice
